2011 flood response
Queensland Floods Commission of Inquiry
In January 2011, the Queensland Government established a statewide Commission of Inquiry to forensically examine the 2011 flood disaster.
The Commission's Queensland Floods Inquiry Interim Report was released on 1 August.
The report examines a range issues relating to flood preparedness, and makes 175 recommendations focused on changes which can be implemented before the next wet season.
As part of its response to the recommendations, the State Government commissioned an independent report investigating options for increasing the flood mitigation performance of Wivenhoe Dam. The report was completed in December 2011.
