Environmental Flows Assessment Program
The Environmental Flows Assessment Program (EFAP) is a statewide monitoring and assessment program to assess the effectiveness of each Water Resource Plan (WRP) in providing for its stated ecological outcomes.
EFAP supports the monitoring and reporting requirements under the Water Act 2000. The program provides information to assist with the various stages of water resource planning.
Through EFAP, ecological assets such as key species and biological functions are monitored as indicators of the broader ecosystem.
The aim is to monitor a range of indicators that represent the ecological outcomes for a WRP area as well as the overall ecosystem.
For a broad summary of EFAP please download the department's EFAP factsheet (PDF)*.
