Land that has been or is being used for a notifiable activity about which the department is notified, is recorded on the EMR. The Contaminated Land Register (CLR) is a register of 'risk' sites - proven contaminated land which is causing or may cause serious environmental harm. A joint search of the EMR and CLR is usually part of the conveyancing process when you are buying a property.
