Application for an environmental authority for a level 2 mining project (mining activities but not prospecting or mining claim) under the Environmental Protection Act
For this application the highest annual fee must accompany the application fee. DERM is responsible for the regulation of the environmental management performance of the mining industry in QLD through the provisions of the Environmental Protection Act 1994. A mining project is prescribed under section 151 of the Act as either a level 1 mining project or a level 2 mining project, depending on the risk of environmental harm. Mining activities that are part of a mining project are authorised under an environmental authority (mining activities).
