Queensland place names online search
The Place Names Database (PNDB) is the cumulated list in electronic form of approved, unapproved, alternative and obsolete place names recorded in Queensland and accessed through the departments SmartMap Information System (SMIS). The PNDB provides the name, descriptive code, status, co-ordinates, map reference, gazettal information and if available, alternative names and historical information. The application assists departmental and external clients to find the location of a place, the correct spelling and any gazette or historic information.
