Location of Dawson River Basin within Queensland

The study area encompasses the Dawson River and its tributaries (including the Don River and its tributaries), and covers a catchment area of about 50 800 km2. The area is bounded by the Lynd and Expedition ranges to the west, Great Dividing Range to the south, and south-west Auburn, Calliope, Ulam, and Dee ranges to the east.

Of the 187 subsections identified, 173 were surveyed. Three hundred and thirty-five sites were identified within surveyed subsections, of these, 316 sites were ‘full survey’ and 19 were ‘photograph only’.
