Border Rivers and Moonie River
Location of Border Rivers and Moonie River basin within Queensland
The study area comprises the Border Rivers and Moonie River catchment on the New South Wales–Queensland border. It covers an area of about 63 550 km², with 9 420 km of major stream length within it. Major streams include, Macintyre and Severn Rivers in the south-east, Dumaresq River in the east, Macintyre Brook in the north, Weir River in the north-west and Moonie River in the west.
A total of 463 ‘full survey’ sites, 12 ‘photograph only’ and 301 surveyed subsections were identified within the study area.
