Ross and Fig Tree Creeks Draft Management Plan
The Department of Environment and Resource Management (DERM) has released the Ross and Fig Tree Creeks Draft Management Plan to ensure the future protection of this reserve land and provide a framework for its use.
The plan was drafted after extensive consultation with Rockhampton Regional Council, interest groups, the local community and State Government agencies.
Ross and Fig Tree Creeks cover an area of approximately 15 hectares and are located at Yeppoon, on the Capricorn Coast in Central Queensland.
The draft plan aims to:
- provide direction for the future management of Ross and Fig Tree Creeks reserves under the Land Act 1994
- ensure the State land and waters within the management plan area are committed to ecologically sustainable uses
- make recommendations to address land use, recreation and public access within the management plan area
- address and protect the important environmental values of the Ross and Fig Tree Creeks reserves.
