State Planning Policy

State Planning Policy 1/12: Protection of Queensland’s strategic cropping land (SPP 1/12) is the Queensland Government's planning policy and development assessment framework for protecting strategic cropping land (SCL) under the Sustainable Planning Act 2009.

It is designed to ensure that planning and development assessment under local government planning schemes includes appropriate consideration of SCL.

SPP 1/12 is part of the overall legislative and planning framework, established under the Strategic Cropping Land Act 2011, to protect SCL from developments that lead to permanent impacts or diminished productivity. Read more
